ROUNDUP: Terryville wrestling handles Notre Dame-West Haven, St. Paul wrestling loses

TERRYVILLE - The Terryville wrestling team got its season off to a great start as it defeated ND-West Haven on Wednesday night by a score of 63-12. The Kangaroo’s won in dominating fashion as they had six pins as a team.

Cayleb Leclerc, Jakde Borda, Canaan Cossu-Fredericks, Sean Ryan, Josh Wright and Jason Hume were the five Terryville wrestlers to win via pin, while Jarrod Ashe won via 3-0 decision and Tim Armstrong, Josh Anderson, Jake Cotton and Bailey McCann won via forfeit.

The Kangaroos will next be in action on Saturday morning when they participate in the Pomperaug Tournament which starts at 9 a.m.

Ellis Tech 66, St. Paul 9: The St. Paul wrestling team got its season off to a rough start as it lost badly to Ellis Tech on Wednesday night. The only Falcons to win their matches were Jordan Silva, who beat Josh Wojcik via a 6-2 decision, and Patrick George who pinned Jacob Rondeau in 1:15.
