PLAINVILLE – On Sept. 13 the Plainville Public Library will be hosting an event on managing challenging times
Dr. Wendy Hurwitz will be speaking at the event, which begins at 6 p.m. Hurwitz is a graduate of Yale University School of Medicine and a nationally recognized expert on stress. Hurwitz is an expert in mind/body medicine and energy medicine.
She teaches both professionals and students in medicine, psychology and the allied health professions. She has lectured at Harvard Medical School, Yale University School of Medicine, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, University of Connecticut School of Medicine, NYU and Fordham University.
“Dr. Wendy Hurwitz has a calming, hands-on approach while providing audience members tips and techniques to help alleviate the feelings of uncertainty, fear and isolation which arise during challenging times,” Assistant Director of Plainville Public Library Kari Burgess said.
Burgess is hopeful that patrons leave the workshop with tools and tips they can execute whenever they feel the need to. Each patron will be encouraged to only use the tips that work best for them during the challenging times they are currently facing or may face in the future.
According to Burgess, learning how to cope with one's emotions is essential when dealing with any issues that arise in daily life. Without control of your emotions, negative feelings may erupt and negative side effects may occur.
