PLAINVILLE - The Plainville Chamber of Commerce is featuring 12 local businesses, selected via raffle, in the organization’s inaugural business calendar.

The 2022 calendar will be distributed free of charge to community residents. The featured businesses were randomly chosen at a recent chamber board meeting, according to co-president Quinn Wazorko-Christopher. The calendar will also include a listing of all chamber member businesses.

“We are very pleased with the response to this first business initiative,” Wazorko-Christopher said. “It was great to see so many businesses participate in buying tickets for the raffle. I think we have 12 good choices for the 2022 year calendar.”

Chamber Vice President Blaire Bouchard said the calendar will offer good exposure for businesses in town.

“It is not only something useful for residents to have in their homes or offices, but also yet another way to showcase our local businesses,” she said.

Chamber co-president Tabitha Manafort said the business calendar will be the “first of many” new initiatives the chamber plans to pursue in order to help promote the town.

“We have so many great businesses in town and everyone should know about them,” she said.

When the calendar raffle was first announced earlier this year, Wazorko-Christopher said the calendars will be distributed this December. She also said at the time the chamber will be working on bringing back community events, such as Business After Hours, the Pizza Feud and an annual golf tournament. The chamber, she said, is also discussing creating new events.

“Next year I plan for us to have at least three or four events and more after hours events,” said Wazorko Christopher. “Those were big – a local business would sponsor it and invite other chamber members. It was a great way for chamber members to interact and network with each other.”
