Newington and Southington both had a resident die from confirmed coronavirus-associated illnesses, according to the latest data released by state health officials. Newington has had 43 confirmed and 13 probable virus-associated deaths, while Southington is now up to 30 confirmed and five probable virus-associated deaths.
The state had 11 coronavirus-associated deaths since Friday for a total of 4,627. There were an additional 11 state residents hospitalized with covid-19 for a total that stands at 340. There were 79,066 tests reported with 2,651 coming back as positive cases, a positivity rate of 3.4%.
Locally, New Britain had an additional 56 confirmed and five probable in residents testing positive for coronavirus over the weekend. The city is up to 1,957 confirmed and 100 probable cases in all.
Bristol had 35 residents confirmed and another two considered probable for testing positive for coronavirus since Friday. The city has had 955 confirmed and 37 probable cases overall.
Newington had an increase of 16 in residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus and an increase of one in probable cases. The town is up to 567 confirmed and 27 probable cases.
Southington went over 500 in resident confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus after an additional 17 residents were confirmed in that category over the weekend. The town also had an increase of six in residents considered as probable coronavirus cases. The town has had 503 confirmed and 37 probable cases.
Berlin had an additional 10 residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus since Friday for totals that stand at 268 confirmed and 19 probable overall.
Plainville had nine residents confirmed and another four considered probable in tested positive for coronavirus over the weekend. The town has had 254 confirmed and 14 probable cases in all.
Plymouth had another nine residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus since Friday. The town has had 110 confirmed and eight probable cases.
