Bristol up nearly 70 in confirmed coronavirus cases over last week; Plymouth goes over 100 in confirmed virus cases

Newington is the third in the area over the past few days to have a resident die from coronavirus-associated illness. The town had one additional virus-associated confirmed death, according to the latest data released by state health officials.

Newington has had 42 confirmed virus-associated deaths and another 13 that are considered probable since reporting began. The town also had an additional seven residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus Friday for totals that stand at 551 confirmed and 26 probable overall.

Statewide, there were seven additional deaths reported over the past day, for a total that stands at 4,616 overall. There were 30,554 tests reported Friday with 761 coming back as positive cases. There were another eight patients hospitalized with coronavirus than the day before for a total of 329.

Locally, New Britain went over 1,900 in confirmed coronavirus cases Friday after another two dozen residents were confirmed as having tested positive for the virus. The city is up to 1,901 confirmed and 95 probable cases overall. The probable cases were up six since Thursday.

New Britain has had 121 confirmed coronavirus cases since last weekend and is currently in ‘Red Alert’ status due to the rising cases.

Bristol had 10 additional residents confirmed as having tested positive for the virus Friday and another one considered probable. The city has now had 920 confirmed and 35 probable cases overall.

Bristol has had 67 confirmed coronavirus cases since last weekend and is currently in ‘Orange Alert’ status, the second week in a row it has held that distinction.

Southington had four residents confirmed and another two considered probable for having tested positive for coronavirus. The town is up to 486 confirmed and 31 probable cases in all.

Berlin had a trio of residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus Friday bringing its totals to 258 confirmed and 19 probable overall.

Plainville had an additional two residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus. The town has had 245 confirmed and 10 probable cases in all.

Plymouth went over 100 in residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus after another three were added to that total Friday. The town is up to 101 confirmed and eight probable cases overall.
