Bristol has another 20 residents test positive for coronavirus, city remains in Orange Alert status

Both New Britain and Southington had confirmed coronavirus-associated deaths among its residents, according to the latest data released by state health officials. New Britain has now had 80 confirmed deaths along with 22 deaths considered probable. Southington has reached 29 confirmed deaths with five considered probable among residents.

On a day where New Britain moved to Red Alert status, Bristol and Plainville remained at Orange Alert status and Newington and Berlin moved into Orange Alert status, there was over 1,300 new coronavirus cases reported statewide.

There were 21,739 coronavirus tests reported in the state Thursday with 1,319 coming back as positive cases. There were five additional virus-associated deaths for a total of 4,609. There were an additional 12 patients hospitalized with coronavirus for a total that is now up to 321. One month ago, that total stood at 91.

New Britain had an additional 13 residents confirmed and another nine considered probable for having tested positive for coronavirus Thursday. The city is up to 1,877 confirmed and 89 probable cases overall.

Bristol had another nine residents confirmed and 11 considered probable for having tested positive for coronavirus over the last 24 hours. The city is up to 910 confirmed and 34 probable cases since reporting began. Bristol has had 68 confirmed and eight probable coronavirus-associated deaths.

Newington had three more residents confirmed and two considered probable for testing positive for the virus. The town is up to 544 confirmed and 26 probable cases. Newington has had 41 confirmed and 13 probable virus-associated deaths overall.

Southington had an additional three residents confirmed and 12 more considered probable for having tested positive for covid-19 Thursday. The town has had 482 confirmed and 29 probable cases.

Berlin had one more resident confirmed and two more considered probable for testing positive for coronavirus Thursday. The town is up to 255 confirmed and 19 probable cases and 14 confirmed and three probable virus-associated deaths.

Plainville had two more residents confirmed and six additional considered probable for testing positive for the virus Thursday. The town is now up to 243 confirmed and 10 probable cases. Plainville has had 26 confirmed and one probable virus-associated deaths.

Plymouth had a decline of one in residents confirmed as having tested positive for coronavirus, dropping to 98 in that category. The town, however, had an increase of three in probable cases, going up to eight. The town has had one coronavirus-associated death.
