PLAINVILLE - The Plainville Chamber of Commerce’s 38th annual Golf Outing will see a change of venue to Stanley Golf Course in New Britain on Sept. 17, but it will still feature the same food, fun and networking opportunities participants have come to expect.

Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at the course at 245 Hartford Road, New Britain, followed by tee-off at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served on the course and awards for the players will be given at a dinner after the day of golfing.

There will also be on-course group photos.

Golf contests will include “Best Team Score”, “Long Drive”, and “Closest to the Pin” and there is also a hole-in-one prize of a new car, sponsored by Gallagher Buick.

There will also be a prize for the craziest golf outfit, with the winner receiving a $50 gift card.

Lisa Hubina, membership director of the Plainville Chamber of Commerce, said the annual golf outing is the chamber’s biggest fundraiser of the year.

“It’s a great day to go out and play some golf while networking, having fun and having good food,” she said. “Stanley Golf Course is a beautiful golf course.”

There will also be raffles throughout the day, with prizes donated by local businesses.

“CWPM and Allied Sanitation have donated a dumpster for a couple hours for one prize, there is also an overnight stay with breakfast at the Fairfield Inn,” said Hubina. “Interstate Aviation is also offering a half-hour flight for three people in a Piper Warrior and Black Hawk Fishing has a prize of a fishing trip on the Black Hawk for one adult and one child morning, afternoon or mid-day covering rods and rental - a $120 value.”

Hubina thanked all of those who have sponsored the event and donated raffle prizes. Sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Those who wish to participate are asked to RSVP by Sept. 13. To register, or for more information, call the chamber at 860-747-6867, visit plainvillechamber.com or email info@plainvillechamber.com. People can also “like” the Plainville Chamber of Commerce on Facebook.
