PLAINVILLE - Plainville Project Graduation 2020 will have its first meeting Sept. 11 at the Plainville YMCA.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Y, 149 Farmington Ave. Future meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of each month.

Plainville High School/YMCA Project Graduation 2020 is an all-night drug- and alcohol-free celebration held at the YMCA for PHS seniors on graduation night.

It is the last event that they will spend together with their graduating peers before they head off to post-graduate endeavors.

Planning this event takes many volunteers, adults and students to make it a success.

It will feature fun activities and entertainment, including a casino room, a caricaturist, a hypnotist, game show mania, inflatables and much more.

Event organizers raffle off over $5,000 in prizes throughout the night and award a $1,000 grand prize to one lucky senior, chosen at the end of the event.

The Project Graduation committee organizes events and fundraisers all year long to fund this event, which costs approximately $20,000.

Those who can’t make the meetings, but still want to get involved, can call Christine at 860-869-3209 or email avon_christine@yahoo.com or email Stevie at iamstevie@hotmail.com.
