No injuries reported in car fire on Rt. 72 in Plainville

PLAINVILLE – No injuries were reported in a car fire that happened on Rt. 72 Eastbound Wednesday morning.

It happened just past exit 1 and the call for it came in around 8:30 a.m., according to State police.

Traffic was closed down for about a half our but was then quickly reopened, state police said. Responders have since cleared the scene.

It wasn’t immediately clear what caused the fire but it was not the result of an accident, state police said.
