PLAINVILLE – A suspect in a shoplifting incident at Kohl’s on New Britain Avenue Sunday evening is being sought by police.

Plainville police posted on their Facebook page a picture of the female suspect with red hair and a grey shirt.

Lt. Eric Peterson said she stole cologne, make up items and clothing valued at a total of around $840.

Store employees told police they saw the women take the items in a cart to the changing area with an empty purse, heard the sound of ripping up plastic and saw the woman walk out with a full purse past the checkout counters without paying, Peterson said.

The employees went into the changing room and found the empty boxes of cologne and confronted her in the parking lot but she took off running and left in a black Honda Accord, Peterson said. The woman was acting alone, Peterson.

If anyone can help police they are asked to contact Officer Joseph Henderson at 860-747-1616.
