NEW BRITAIN – The Tomasso Group has announced that it has purchased more than 80 acres of commercial land in Plainville and New Britain.

The recently purchased land is near the intersection of Interstate 84 and Route 72. The land is adjacent to the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute at the Hospital of Central Connecticut and the Medical Arts Building which was also developed by the Tomasso Group.

“We are proud to be investing in Plainville and New Britain, the two communities where our families has worked and lived for nearly 100 years,” Bill and Michael Tomasso said in a written statement. “Over four generations we have seen this economic cycle before and are optimistic about the long term prospects for business in Connecticut, especially on land adjacent to the Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute and adjoining Medical Arts Building. We are here to stay.”
