PLAINVILLE - The building under construction at 29 Northwest Drive is being built for GPA, Specialty Substrate Solutions, said Plainville Economic Development Director Mark Devoe.
GPA, a specialty paper distributor, is now at at 10 Farmington Valley Drive. According to Devoe, it has “outgrown” the 15,000-square-foot building there. The new building, expected to be completed by fall , will be 33,600 square feet.
“That is a pretty significant expansion,” said Devoe. “There is also about 20,000 square feet of space still available for a further expansion in the future.”
In order to make the expansion possible, Devoe said that the town offered GPA a tax incentive.
“It’s a moderate abatement that begins at 50 percent and then reduces to 10 percent over five years,” Devoe explained.
According to GPA’s website, printaccess.com, GPA is “the largest distributor of specialty substrates for offset, digital, screen, laser, inkjet, printing and more in North America.”
