Bristol Eastern grad, New Britain High student among three killed in crash on I-91

ENFIELD – Friends say a New Britain High School student and a Bristol Eastern High School graduate were among the three killed in a fatal crash Sunday morning on Interstate 91.

Moses Negron, an 18-year-old New Britain High School student who attended the satellite Careers Academy at Roosevelt on Goodwin Street and Kerion Rogers, a 2016 graduate of Bristol Eastern High School were killed in the early morning crash. A third person also died but whose name was not released by state police.

State police identified the driver of the car as Christopher Vega, 20, of 48 Park St., Plainville. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Vega was behind the wheel of a 1999 Lexus driving on I-91 southbound in the area of exit 47E when the car traveled off the roadway through the grass shoulder, up an embankment and struck a tree at about 7:18 a.m.

Vega was taken to St. Francis Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The three passengers in the Lexus were pronounced dead at the scene. State police have not released their identities.

State police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the crash or seen the movements of the car before the crash.
