NEW BRITAIN - The Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce announced it has partnered with the Plainville Chamber of Commerce.

“We decided to join New Britain because we felt New Britain was more active with networking and political events that would benefit our chamber,” PCC President Jeff DiCosimo said.

In April, the Plainville chamber’s Board of Directors unanimously voted 13-0 to partner with GNBCC. With Greater New Britain’s approval, the two chambers officially aligned on June 1.

“This is a win-win for both communities and will help us to maximize the strengths of both chambers,” said GNBCC Chairperson Robin Sharp. “We’re all looking forward to realizing the growth and opportunities that can come from this regional partnership.”

The Plainville chamber was previously affiliated with the Central Connecticut Chambers of Commerce.

Although both chambers have partnerships with local municipal economic development agencies, GNBCC’s strong working relationship with the mayor’s office helps further accomplish economic development for the business community.

“So far everything is falling into place as expected. We are putting into place changes over the next two months that will help Plainville move forward and bring more value to the membership of the chamber members,” said DiCosimo. “I am really excited and look forward to working with the GNBCC.”

President of the Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce Tim Stewart is equally excited about the collaboration.

“The Greater New Britain Chamber of Commerce has been Central Connecticut’s business voice for over 100 years. I look forward to working closely with the Plainville Chamber to provide new and exciting opportunities to the residents and businesses,” Stewart said.
