PLAINVILLE - Plainville Public Library has announced upcoming children’s activities.

The following free programs will be held at the library at 56 E. Main St. To register for these programs, call 860-793-1450.

Yoga Storytime, intended for ages three to five, will be held July 17, 24 and 31 at 10:30 a.m. Unlike yoga for adults, this class is developed especially for young children. Participants will share a story, play yoga and breathing games and enjoy relaxation each week based on a different theme. Registration is required. Participants can reserve a mat or bring one of their own. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

On July 20 at 6:30 p.m., Purple Rock Productions will present “Rapunzel.” The adaptation of this classic tale is intended for all ages and features a very clever heroine with a few tricks up her sleeve. In addition to puppets, the performer, dressed as a washerwoman, transforms ordinary objects into storytelling props with help from the audience. This program is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain.
