In loving memory of our father, Robert George Konopaske (Bobby), who passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Alkas Konopaske and his children, Gregg Konopaske (Jill) and Jolie Fabrizio (David), and his grandchildren Kyle, Sydney, Sophie, Tori, and Eliza. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bobby graduated from Terryville High School in 1965, married Kathy in 1970, and started a family together in CT, where he worked for Barnes Group and the Town of Terryville. In 1998, they headed south to Charlotte, NC and continued south thereafter to Florida. He and Kathy lived in Coconut Creek, FL for many years, and most recently, Jensen Beach, FL where they have been surrounded by many friends who consider them family.

Early in life, Bobby learned the importance of hard work and he instilled that same work ethic in his children and grandchildren.

Those who knew him best knew him as Bob, Bobby, Grampbe, Zebop, or Bobby K.  Playing softball at East Main Street School was one thing that Zebop always looked forward to. The sport, the adrenaline, and the camaraderie with the guys made his blood pump. During his spare time, you could always find him cheering on the Red Sox or Dolphins. Bobby was very proud of his country. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam era, and was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

A final “Toast to Bobby K” is being planned for Saturday, Nov. 5 in Jensen Beach, followed by a private family service on Sunday, Nov. 6 (Bobby’s 75th birthday). Please contact the family directly for more details about the Nov. 5th celebration.

In lieu of flowers, please feel free to make a donation to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, http://www.nmcrs.org.
