Ruth (Bush) Suchinski

Ruth (Bush) Suchinski, 86, of Wolcott, widow of Joseph Suchinski, died on Thursday (June 30, 2022) at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington. Ruth was born on Dec. 6, 1935 in Bristol, and was one of eight children of the late Emil and Lillian (Powers) Bush. 

A longtime Wolcott resident, she worked for General Electric, Plainville, for 13 years and Johnson & Johnson/Critikon before retiring. She was a member and past-president of the Billy Peterson Post, Wolcott American Legion Auxiliary, and a parishioner of St. Basil the Great Parish, Wolcott. 

Ruth was an inspiration to many who met her, always having a smile and words of encouragement. She was an avid bowler. Ruth loved watching UCONN girls’ basketball and Yankees baseball. Gardening and working in her yard always gave her joy. 

Ruth is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law: Ronald Suchinski and Nicole Smart of Wolcott; several nieces and nephews; special friend: Gail Pacelle of Bristol; and “almost daughters”: Kathleen Dandeneau of Wolcott and Karen Veronneau of Torrington. She was predeceased by her seven brothers and sisters. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 7, 2022) at 9:30 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Pius X Church, Woodtick Rd., Wolcott, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Bristol.
