Roger C. Vose

Roger C. Vose, 88, passed away on Jan. 20, 2022 at his home in Farmington. Roger was born on Feb. 19, 1933 in Marshfield, ME.

Roger was predeceased by his wife Joyce (Ellsmore) Vose, sons Roger & Jeffrey Vose, parents Frederick Ezekiel and Margaret Pauline (Ingalls) Vose, birth mother Thelma Kathleen (Olsen) Vose, as well as his brothers James and Frederick Vose.

Roger attended Washington Academy and then went on to join the Army in 1950 where he served his Country during the Korean War. He was married shortly after to Joyce Ellsmore with whom he had shared 63 years of marriage before her passing in 2017.

Roger was an avid sports fan; he especially loved to watch the Boston Red Sox, Patriots, and UConn Women’s Basketball. In his past time, Roger loved to play cribbage, rummy, and solitaire.

Roger is survived by; his siblings - Patricia Finan and Dennis Vose, three children - Debra Marks, Larry Vose and his wife Annette, and Mark Vose and his wife Cindy, 12 grandchildren - Melissa Trapp, Jessica Trapp, Scott Vose, Ashlee Stone, Elisabeth Herdic, Matthew Vose, Jonathan Vose, Christopher Vose, Roger G. Vose, Tanya Shabazz, Seth Vose, and Kayla Vose as well as their spouses and significant others, & many great-grandchildren, two of which he held a special bond with - Kyana Anderson & Hadley Herdic.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. at Asbury Methodist Church located at 90 Church Avenue Bristol, CT. A luncheon at Max 4 located at 454 Middle Street Bristol, CT will immediately follow the services. Because of his love and compassion for animals, especially dogs, the family requests any donations be sent to the Connecticut Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
