On October 31, 2021, Irene Ostroski Wiliams Powell, 93, most recently of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, was peacefully called to her eternal resting place after a brief illness. She was preceded in her death by her husbands, George Walter Williams and Daniel W. Powell, Jr. and is survived by her three children, Cathleen A. Wiliams of Bridgeport, Thomas J. Williams (Lisa) of Raleigh, NC, and Jennifer Williams Bogannam (Nicholas) of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Irene, better known as “I”, was born on Aug. 12, 1928, to Henry Victor Ostroski and Helen Seglerski Ostroski in Bristol. Her four grandchildren, Russell Gagne and Timothy Gagne of Bridgeport, Nicholas Bogannam, of Denver, CO, and Sofia Bogannam of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, loved and cherished their amazing “Mimi”.

For Irene, the two clear priorities in her life were always God and family. A loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she always stood strong in supporting and encouraging each family member to be the very best person they could be. She found tremendous strength in her faith and unconditionally accepted God’s plan as she dealt with the challenges and obstacles life sent her way. It didn’t take long for anyone who got to know her to realize that she never met a stranger and throughout her lifetime she treasured building and nurturing new relationships with her many friends. Her upbeat and positive attitude served as a constant inspiration and source of motivation to her children, grandchildren, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Fort Pierce, FL. A memorial service and interment will be held at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Bristol.

The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to the entire staff of Trustbridge Hospice at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center for the outstanding care and dignity they provided.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach County, St. Anastasia Catholic Church, or a non-profit of your choice.
