Mary O. Dyer

Mary O. Dyer, 100, of Bristol, passed away on Sept. 26, 2021 at The Pines at Bristol Center for Health and Rehabilitation, after a short illness. Born on Feb. 13, 1921 in East Canaan, the daughter of the late Domenico and Genaveffa (Perotti) Delaini, Mary lived in Bristol for the majority of her life having moved from Berlin, New Hampshire in the early 1950’s. Mary worked for many years at Bristol Eastern High School as a cafeteria aid until retirement. She was a longtime member of Asbury Methodist Church. Mary was an avid reader and would enjoy trips to the Bristol and Forestville libraries. Mary loved to walk and was very active into her later years of life. She also enjoyed knitting and would spend time making scarves and mittens for her family.

Mary leaves behind her daughter, Sandra Richardson, son Lawrence P. Dyer Jr. and his wife Pamela Dyer; and her grandchildren, Heidi Ingelis, Kathy Soucy, Laura Lishness, Bryant Lishness, Andrew Dyer, and Brendan Dyer. She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence “Pat” Dyer, a daughter Carole Lishness, a son Patrick D. Dyer, an adult granddaughter Kim Richardson, and two infant granddaughters Sherry Richardson, and Amy Lishness. The family would like to give a special thank you to the loving and caring staff at The Pines of Bristol who had helped and cared for their Mom. A memorial service is planned for spring 2022.
