Albert Toby Bettua

Albert Toby Bettua, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Aug. 18, 2021, just four days shy of his 92nd birthday after a short illness. Albert was the son of the late Antonio and Concetta Bettua. He was born on Aug. 22, 1929 in Aliquippa Pa., one of 11 children.

He was predeceased by his wife Faith Bettua (Scoville) and brothers Michael Bettua, Anthony Bettua and Michael Patrone. Also predeceased are sisters Mary Iuppa, Nancy Culver and Josephine Penta.

Albert was proud to be both an Army and National Guard veteran. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Church.He worked for Wallace Barnes until he retired at 65. Albert is survived by his sisters Rose Szandarowsky, Anne Checovettes and Victoria Ziotas and husband Angelo of Bristol, as well as his brother Phillip (Sonny) Patrone and wife Marsha of Trumbull. He is also survived by his daughters Cheryl and husband Brendan Ericson of Terryville, Lynn and husband John Soltis of Bristol and grandchildren Connor Soltis, Cameron Soltis, Parker Soltis, Toni Ericson, and Scott Ericson.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Pines of Bristol for their compassion, care and support.  There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday at St Anthony Church, Bristol. Burial will be in the family plot at St Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. To send a condolence, please visit
