Gregory G. Tye

Gregory G. Tye, 68 of Bristol passed away peacefully on July 30, 2021, surrounded by family, after a brave battle with a long illness. Born on Nov. 28, 1952, he was the son of the late John W Tye Jr. and Jane E (Emery) Tye.

Greg served our country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a material handler for many years working for manufacturers such as New Departure, OZ Gedney and Lab Security. Greg had a love of fishing and a passion for the ’60s and ’70s muscle cars, especially the ’63 Chevy Impala SS which was his pride and joy.

He is survived by his brother Eric and his wife Janet of Bristol, as well as his brother John and his wife Susan of Florida; one niece, Sara Tye, and three nephews, Caleb Tye, Jacob Tye and Jeffery Tye Jr. Greg is also survived by his lifelong friend and fishing buddy, Dale Soucy, his son Mike Soucy, and Dale's brother Dennis. He also leaves his beloved birds Bruno and Ozzy. Greg was predeceased by his brother, Jeffery Tye Sr.

At Greg's request, there will be no services and the burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Greg's name may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation in Terryville, Conn., by visiting www.arfct.org/donation-options .
