Augustus “Gus” Paul Boi, beloved husband of 69 years to Marie Anita (Bernier) Boi, died peacefully on Jan. 8, 2021, in his home in Bristol. Gus was a lifelong resident of Bristol who graduated from the University of Hartford with a Business degree and retired from Stanley Black & Decker. He was a member of St. Gregory Church, Bristol. Gus started his young life with polio and proved that physical limitations do not disqualify you from living a long and successful life. In fact, he understood that he was stronger and sought out challenges with a goal toward excellence as a consequence. He loved food and spent a lifetime perfecting the recipes his family so dearly loved. Gus was also a superior model boat builder and an avid restorer of all manner of watches, furniture – whatever needed restoring. Due to COVID risks, a memorial service will be scheduled in the late spring. Funk Funeral Home is entrusted with his arrangements which will be communicated at a later date.
