On Oct. 6, Anthony J. Scaramuzza Sr. passed at the age of 87.
Anthony was born in Bristol, to Joseph and Anna (Sgro) Scaramuzza Dec. 12, 1931. He was a Korean War veteran, successful local business owner and loving committed husband, father and grandfather. Anthony defined the American success story being a first generation U.S. born son of immigrants, and throughout his life was a man of faith, love, virtue, discipline, and stewardship.
Anthony is survived by his wife and lifelong love, Althea (Mischke); daughter, Tina Kelly (Brian); son, Daniel; son, Tony Jr (Lori), and his sister, Ann Fanion. His love for family is celebrated in four grandchildren, who he cherished and guided with the same virtues and care the entire family had come to know and love.
A public mass celebrating his life will be held at St Joseph Catholic Church in Bristol, at 11 a.m., on Thursday Oct. 10. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bristol Hospice, 32 Valley St, Bristol.
