David Lee Holmes, 62, passed away peacefully on Jan. 1, 2019.

A lifelong Bristol resident he was predeceased by mother, Joan Holmes (Bracken) and father, David Osborne Holmes.  Dave worked at Gems Sensors Division in Farmington for many years and also was employed by the state police in Meriden as a quartermaster.

Dave’s pastimes and interests included fishing, his Corvettes and motorcycles as well as softball, a sport he excelled in as a five tool-player. He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox and also closely followed the UConn men’s basketball program. A good game of cribbage or set-back and a good laugh were times that Dave enjoyed immensely.

He is survived by his brothers, Terence of Torrington and Craig of Rocky Hill; a sister, Anita Stephens and her husband, Mark, of N. Myrtle Beach, and his nieces Shannon and Erin, both of Colorado.

There will be no services but a remembrance memorial get-together will be planned.
