Levite R. Cormier

Levite R. Cormier, Sr., 82, of Bristol, widower of Rejeanne (Roy) Cormier, died on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at home.

Levite was born in Van Buren, Maine, on Mar. 2, 1936, and was a son of the late Denis and Corinne (Rossignol) Cormier.

Levite is survived by three children, Claire Fournier and husband, Leigh, of Bristol, Levite "Lee" Cormier, Jr., and wife, Cynthia, of Bristol, and Diane Balzano of North Haven; seven grandchildren, John (Elizabeth) Fournier, Gregory Fournier, Christine (Brian) Martin, Michael (Sabrina) Cormier, Kaitlin Cormier, Anthony and Theresa Balzano; seven great-grandchildren, Dominic, Joshua, Brayden, and Jacob Martin, Mia and Michael Cormier, and Benjamin Fournier.

He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Dubay.

The family would like to thank his caregiver, Crystal McMorris, and hospice nurse, Adrienne, who provided care and comfort in his final months.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, 120 Church Ave., Forestville. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Saturday between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bristol Hospital Hospice Program, Main St., Bristol, CT or St. Matthew School, 33 Welch Dr., Bristol, CT 06010.
