John Sobestanovich, 90, of Bristol, husband of Joan (Pickett) Sobestanovich, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018.

John was born in Bristol, on July 24, 1928, and was a son of the late Ignatz and Wassa (Trunalevich) Sobestanovich.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by many family members and friends, who he loved dearly.

John was an electrician by trade and worked at the University of Hartford for over 35 years before retiring in 2000. Prior to that, he was an electrician at E. Ingraham & Company and Wallace Barnes Company in Bristol for several years. John proudly served during the Korean War as a radar technician in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the 755th AC&W Squadron based in Williams Bay, WI, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, is in care of arrangements.
