Margaret M. Ropiak

Margaret M. Ropiak, 97, of Middletown, N.Y., passed away on Nov. 2 2018, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 87. Born on Nov. 30, 1920 in Kensington, she was one of eight children born to the late Felix and Maria Kulak Matyka. She was a proud graduate of Berlin HS. Growing up in Connecticut, she was employed at American Paper Goods and then Stanley Tools. Her husband was a World War II veteran and Margaret became a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph on July 25, 2003. Margaret is survived by her devoted daughter, Christine Fleischman and her husband, Martin, of Slate Hill and one son, Michael Ropiak and his wife, Dorothy, of Enfield; three grandchildren, Joseph, Jill, and Nicole; and six great-grandchildren who adored her. She was generous with her time, always the first one to lend a helping hand for family or friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 90 Euclid Ave., Middletown, N.Y. 10940. Burial will take place privately in Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen, N.Y.
