George A. Sulli, 88, of Burlington, beloved husband of the late Muriel (Fredette) Sulli, died in the peace of the Roman Catholic faith on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018. Born on April 5, 1930, in New York, he was the son of the late Joseph and Jennie (Pellettieri) Sulli. George was educated in Queens, N.Y. and continued his studies with the Camillian Fathers in Wisconsin and Cambridge, Mass. Prior to retiring, he was employed by the Atlantic Ridgefield Corp., in the human resource division of the medical group. George served his country proudly in the United States Army, serving as a medic during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Gregory the Great Church in Bristol and was a member of the Legion of Mary at the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville. He was an oblate of St. Benedict of St. Procopius Abbey, making his final oblation on March 20, 1963, spiritual son of Padre Pio. George is survived by his five children, Gerard C. Sulli of Ridgefield, David P. Sulli of San Diego, Calif., Marie A. Risk of Watertown, Catherine M. Lombardi of Watertown, Andre J. Sulli of Pleasantville, N.Y., nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; his sister, Rosalie Gelb of Southbury and nieces and nephews. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Thursday, Sept. 27 from 5 to 7 p.m. The Tridentine Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 28 at 9:30 a.m. in the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St., Waterbury. All are kindly asked to meet at church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol with full military honors.
