Marcie Anne Cyr, 58, of Bristol, passed unexpectedly Thursday morning, Sept. 20, 2018.

She was the wife of Merrill Cyr. Marcie was born on Oct. 5, 1959, in Miami, Fla., and was the daughter of the late Harvey and Faye Mednick. She received her Bachelor Degree in teaching and for many years taught at the Martin Luther King School in Hartford teaching special needs children from 1983 to 2012. Afterwards she tutored and babysat for family and countless friends. Marcie was absorbed with arts and crafts and even had a room devoted to it, unless her grandchildren were using it as their toy room. She was an excellent baker, but most of all enjoyed surrounding herself with her family and friends.

Besides her husband, she leaves her cherished daughters, Megan McElhone, twins, Shannon and Rachel Bonas and Kathryn McElhone; her precious grandchildren, Joseph McElhone and Sarina DeToro.

Friends and loved ones are invited to calling hours between 4 and 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave., Forestville/Bristol. At 7 p.m., all are invited to share Words of Remembrance of Marcie’s life. The family would like donations in Marcie’s memory made to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, 282 Washington St., Hartford, CT 06106.  www.connecticutchildrens.org .
