Barbara J. (McGowan) LeBeau, 87, of Venice, Fla., passed away Friday, May 25. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Francis X. LeBeau.
Barbara was born in Bristol, Conn., on June 3, 1930, the daughter of the late John E. McGowan and Agnes E. Alexander. She was a resident of Bristol until retirement from Northeast Utilities, where she worked in customer and community relations. After retirement, she moved to Venice, Fla., with her husband, Fran; Barb, never wanting to be idle, even in retirement, worked part-time performing food demonstrations and also worked at a local charity store. After her husband passed away, she moved to New Hampshire to be near family. She recently returned to Venice with her son and daughter-in-law.
She is survived by a son, Craig F. LeBeau and daughter-in-law, Roberta; two grandsons, Ross and Reid, many nieces and nephews, and her labrador retriever “granddaughters,” Meeka and Mya.
A private ceremony will take place in the future. The family would like to thank the staff at Tidewell Hospice in Englewood for their kindness, comfort and care.
