James Edward Doyle, of New Britain, passed away on June 6, 2018, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Nan (Kraut) Doyle for 40 years. Jim was born in Bellows Falls, Vt., on Aug. 28, 1943, the son of Dorothy (Harlow) Doyle Perry of Bellows Falls, Vt., and the late Edward Doyle. Jim graduated from the University of Vermont in 1966. He worked at IBM, Pratt & Whitney and The Travelers. He retired from The Hartford after working there for 28 years in Information Technology. Jim was a member of the New Britain YMCA Health Club, The Hartford Blackledge Golf League, the Austrian Donau Club, the AGCA Cape Cod Golf Group and ROMEOS (Retired Old Men Eating Out) Lunch Group. Jim has life-long friends from all these groups.

Jim grew up in the wonderful small town of Bellows Falls, Vt., and enjoyed going back there to visit family, friends and classmates, especially for the annual Alumni Weekend. Jim was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox, where he was a season ticket holder for over 40 years, the Boston Celtics and the UConn Huskies basketball teams, traveling to many Final Four games for both the Men and Women.

Jim loved vacationing in Rhode Island, his 1965 Jaguar XKE and greyhounds. He was proud of his Irish heritage. Jim was kind, thoughtful, and witty, with a great sense of humor. He made friends wherever he went and would do anything for his family and friends. We will all miss him.
