Nettie 'Ruth' (Wheeler) McIntyre

Nettie “Ruth” (Wheeler) McIntyre, 77, of Southington, passed away on Tuesday, May 29 at home unexpectedly.

She was born in Bristol, on Aug. 27, 1940, the daughter of the late Ralph and Louise (DePaulo) Wheeler. She was employed as a supervisor by the State of Connecticut, at the DMV in New Britain, for 38 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting, but most of all she loved her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Dolores Ahern and husband, Michael, Richard S. McIntyre, Jeffrey P. McIntyre and his wife, Lina and Gary A. McIntyre all of Southington, seven grandchildren, Angela LaBelle, Michael and Danielle Ahern, Richard Jr., Christopher, Kevin and Ryan McIntyre. She also leaves two brothers, Robert and James Wheeler of Southington, and a sister, Patricia Bradley of Fla. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Michaud.

Funeral services will be on Friday, at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., to St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St., Southington, at 10 a.m. for a Mass. Burial will be at the Lake Avenue Cemetery, in Bristol. Calling hours will be on Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
