Kathleen (Rich) McCrann, 59, of Bristol, died on Tuesday, May 2, 2018, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

She was born in New Britain to the late Walter and Virginia (Rival) Rich and attended local schools. Kathy worked as a nurse throughout her life also doing what she loved the most, teaching nursing school. She loved being involved in all of her children’s school functions including in the earlier years, being on the PTO and troop leader of her daughter’s Girl Scouts. She also taught CCD for many years at St. Gregory’s Church in Bristol, where she was a parishioner. Her caring nature led her into many volunteer projects where she happily helped others. Kathy enjoyed doing arts and crafts, loved the beach and enjoyed many trips with her son to baseball games. Her kindness and generous heart will be missed by all who knew her.

Kathy is survived by her children: Kaitlyn McCrann and Kyle McCrann, as well as his partner Kaleena Seeley; her brother, Buddy Rich and wife Linda; her sister, Karen Bixby and husband Paul; her nieces and nephews: Amy and wife Kacie, Michelle and husband Sebby, Kelsey, David and Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Rich, and her former husband, Tom McCrann.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Burritt Hill, 332 Burritt St., New Britain. She will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
