Robert 'Bob' Stapleford

Robert ‘Bob’ Stapleford, 76, of Bristol, passed peacefully on March 29 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born October 30, 1942, in Embden, Maine. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a sniper during the Vietnam War. During this time, he received several accolades including the Purple Heart. He is survived by his children, Debra Perron, and Tammy Cyr and son-in-law, Kevin Cyr; grandchildren, Ryan Stapleford and Stephanie Perron; great- grandson, Miles Stapleford. Bob is further survived by two sisters, nieces, nephews and other family. Also left behind was his soul mate, Mary Jane. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 10 a.m. at The State Veterans Cemetery located at 317 Bow Ln., Middletown, C.T., 06457.
