Mr. James A. Porcaro

Mr. James A. Porcaro, age 55, passed away unexpectedly, on Friday, March 23, 2018. He was the loving husband of Sandra (Neuman) Porcaro. Mr. Porcaro was born on June 12, 1962, in Waterbury, son of the late Anthony and Ophelia (Avellani) Porcaro. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and attended Central CT State University. He worked as a real estate appraiser for over 20 years. Jim was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams. Most importantly, Jim was devoted to his wife and daughters, and was an amazing husband and father.

In addition to Sandy, his wife of 22 years, Jim is survived by his daughters, Sarah Porcaro and Danielle Porcaro; his two brothers Anthony Porcaro and his wife Frances of Pawtucket, R.I., and Steven Porcaro and his wife Angela of Waterbury; his four sisters Angela Kiernan of Waterbury, Margaret Carabelli of Waterbury, Maria Veillette of Poolesville, Md., and Anita Russo and her husband Frank of Waterbury. He also leaves his mother-in-law Patricia Neuman and his sister-in-law Wendy Neuman, both of Waterbury as well as, several nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends.

The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Church, 111 School St., Bristol. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. at Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury. A college fund for Jim’s daughters has been set up and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: The “James A.
