Adele (Suchecki) Kaufmann, 93, longtime Hartford and West Hartford resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Avery Heights. She was the widow of Howard Kaufmann, her husband of 62 years. Born and raised in Hartford, Adele was the daughter of the late Stanley and Sophie (Kowal) Suchecki. She worked at Royal Typewriter, where she met Howard, and later worked with G. Fox & Co. with the Credit and Billing Department, where she retired in 1989. Adele was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church in Hartford until its closing and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bristol. She was active with the Lutheran Ladies Guild and the Lutheran Women’s Bowling League. Adele enjoyed cooking and canning fruits and vegetables from her garden, and was devoted to her family.

She leaves three children, Irene Del Kaufmann of Marlinton, W.Va., Carol Ann Mills and her husband, Richard, of West Hartford, and Edward Howard Kaufmann and his wife, Susan, of Swanzey, N.H.; her four grandchildren, Melanie Mills and her companion, Nick Kulakowski, Jason Mills and his wife, Ginger, Sarah Kaufmann, and Victoria Kaufmann; her great-grandson, Jack Kulakowski; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her twin brother, Stanley and her brother, Walter.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 S. Main St., West Hartford, Conn. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford.
