Warren “Bud” Vail III, of Montpelier, Vt., formerly of Bristol, passed away on Aug. 10, 2017, in Vermont with his loving family by his side.
He was born June 29, 1964, the son of the late Warren V. Vail Jr. and M. Gertrude (Gillis) Vail and grandson of the late Warren and Adriana Vail Sr. of Orient, N.Y. and Lillian (Cameron, Gillis) Duchaine of Bristol.
He leaves behind his sisters and brothers-in-law, Marsha V. and E. Terry Parker of Southington, Holly V. and Val LeBlanc of Cromwell, Laurie V. Thayer of Bristol and Terri V. Mulcunry and the late Jack Mulcunry of Bristol. He also leaves his aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Bud was a graduate of Bristol Eastern High School and the University of Hartford. He had been employed as a civil engineer with the State of Vermont Transportation Agency. As a civil engineer he was proud to have worked on several big highway projects such as the Big Dig in Boston and the Interstate 91 flyover bridge in Hartford. He was a true fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Bud was also an avid skier, scuba diver and mountain biker and more recently was involved in local politics. He loved the great outdoors and living in rural Vermont.
A memorial mass of remembrance will be held on Oct. 7, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church at 235 Maltby St., Bristol, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers,a memorial donations in Bud’s honor may be sent to the Humane Society.
