Clifford Albert Cote

Clifford Albert Cote, 78, of Plainville, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington.

He was born on March 26, 1939, in Grand Falls, NB, Canada, son of the late Willie Joseph Cote and Antonia (Morin) Cote. He moved to the United States at the age of 15 in 1954 and settled in New Britain. He attended New Britain High School.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kristina Cote; a son, Craig C. Cote of Bristol; two grandsons, Jason Cote of Kensington and Matthew Cote of New Britain; two sisters, Noela Langlois and husband, Roger, of Hillsborough, N.H., and Diane Cote of New Britain; five brothers, Laurent Cote and wife, Eleanor, of Bristol, Gerald Cote and wife, Shirley, of Bethany Okla., Stephen Cote of New Britain, Brian Cote of Southington and Camille Cote, of Lewiston, Maine. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, along with his beloved cat, Beatles.

Clifford was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Cote Raymond, a brother, Bertrand Cote, and a sister-in-law, Carmela Cote.

He worked at Fenn Mfg. in Newington for 25 years and New England Aircraft. He retired from B & W Mfg. in Bristol. For many years, he worked part time at Patco Convenience Store in Terryville and also helped the Santorso family with their business.

He was a member of the St. Jean Baptiste Society Inc. of New Britain. He enjoyed attending their annual clambake with his family and friends. His interests included going to his coin meetings, nature, gardening and getting together for coffee with his friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at Historic Plainville Campground, 320 Camp St., Plainville on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at 2 p.m. Friends and family are welcome.

The family would also like to thank the staff at the John Dempsey ICU for their compassionate care for Clifford.
