It is with profound sadness we announce Richard Kaupas (Demo Dick #7), 57, of New Britain, has passed life’s finish line.
After a life filled with auto enthusiasm, Rick received the checkered flag of retirement after 28 years of employment at Pandolfe’s Auto Parts. Demo was an avid Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan. He was also an APA member who preferred “banking the 8.” Born on New Year’s Eve in 1959, to Shirley and Albin Kaupas; her “Sonny Boy” is survived by his fiancé, Patty Riley; his sisters and their families: Bunny, Joe, Michael, Darlene Kowalczyk and Tony; JoAnne, Justin, Avery Libano; Nancy, Keith, John Bosco; Linda and Jim McKeen. He also leaves his fan club, Doug, Lynn, Todd and Michelle. He was predeceased by his father, Albin Kaupas. Rick’s family would like to thank his “Pit Crew,” the staff of Bliss lI and CB2, for their compassionate care.
Calling hours will take place on Monday, Aug. 28, 5-8 p.m., at the Venskunas Funeral Home, 670 Stanley St., New Britain. A prayer service will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial in St Mary Cemetery. Please consider wearing either a NASCAR or favorite team jersey to the service.
