Louis John Tenan, 81, formerly of Bristol, beloved husband of the late Joan (Lee) Tenan, passed away Friday, June 2, 2017.

Louis was born in Bristol on April 26, 1936, son of the late Louis R. and Mary Ann (Dubrosky) Tenan, and grew up in Unionville. Prior to retiring, he was an airplane engine inspector with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Southington. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Louis loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and camping, and was an animal lover.

Louis is survived by his children, Christine Cochran Kommer of Maryland, Mark R. Tenan of Bristol, Karen L. Parracino and her husband, Roger of Bristol, Sharon A. Gwara and her husband, Steven of Plainville and Cynthia L. MacDonald and her husband, Curt also of Plainville; 10 grandchildren, Joseph (Kelly) Manocchio, Jeffrey (Sherri) Manocchio, Jeffrey and his fiancee Sarah Hart, Jeremy and Katie Parracino, Christopher, Meghan and Cameron Gwara, and Christian and Matthew MacDonald; four great-grandchildren, Joseph Manocchio Jr., Alyssa and Anthony Manocchio and Dashiell Judd; his brother, Richard Tenan of South Carolina; and his sister, Marion Archacki and her husband Robert, of Florida. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. He was predeceased by his infant son, Matthew Brian Tenan.

Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville, on Monday, June 5, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral procession from The Ahern Funeral Home will be Tuesday, June 6, at 9:15 a.m., followed by the Funeral Liturgy in the Church of St. Mary Star of the Sea, Unionville, at 10 a.m. Burial with full military honors will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Avon.
