Sandra (Amiel) Stewart, 69, of Burlington, daughter of late Josephine Cartier and the late Joseph Amiel, passed away on April 9.
She was born on Feb. 12, 1948, in Hartford. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry Stewart.
A lifelong resident of Burlington, Sandra lived the last few years in Florida with her son, Jimmy, and his wife, Michelle Stewart. She then moved back to Plainville with her sister, Carmen Corapinski.
She was a cook at St. Paul’s school and worked for many years at the Bristol Press. She enjoyed crafting, going to tag sales and listening to Elvis Presley, her favorite artist. She enjoyed spending her afternoons with her loving dog, Tinkerbell, and enjoyed her time spent at the Plainville Senior Center.
She is survived by her four sons, Robert Stewart, Michael Mabe and his girlfriend, Linda, Jimmy Stewart and his wife, Michelle, and Brian Stewart; her daughter, Cathy Stewart, who lives in Australia; her grandchildren, Tyler, Katie, Paige, Madison, Haley and Ellie; and her two great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three brothers, Joseph Amiel, George Jones and Robert Jones; five sisters, Lola Gonneville, Bunny Brown, Carmen Corapinski, Angel Jones and Brenda Hall and their spouses; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
She was predeceased by her brother, Mike Jones.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017, at noon at Apple Valley Worship Center, 594 W Center Street, Southington, CT.
