Maureen B. (Baranowski) LaPlant, 61, of Bristol, beloved wife of Rodney P. LaPlant, left this world on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Bristol Hospital.

Maureen was born in Middletown on Nov. 10, 1955, and was the daughter of the late Chester Baranowski and Arlene Walsh. She was raised and lived in Middletown for most of her life where she attended St. John’s School and Mercy High School.

She worked for Liberty Bank, managing the Cromwell office for several years, where she was involved in community organizations, including mentoring school children. She then went to work at Aetna before retiring.

She enjoyed travel, good restaurants and her close friends but she most enjoyed the time she spent with family. She and Rod moved to Bristol in 2004.

In addition to her husband, Maureen is survived by two daughters, Jaime Hull and her husband, John C. Hull, of Seguin, Texas, and Traci Beauchamp of Rochester, N.H.; four grandchildren, Shane, Cody, Trey and Cedar; her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Carol Baranowski of Middletown; along with her three nephews, Michael Jr., Brian and Patrick.

She was predeceased by an infant son, Matthew.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, between 5 and 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 17, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 33 Queen St., Bristol. Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
