CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - The game was over before the New Britain Bees even had a chance to get going.

Rain caused Saturday night’s game between the Bees and the Long Island Ducks to be called after five innings, resulting in a 2-0 loss for New Britain.

Jonathan Pettibone (2-7) received the loss. The right-hander went four innings, giving up both runs and six hits. He also struck out two and walked two.

The Ducks got on the board in the first inning after Angelo Songco singled to center field with two outs to bring home Delta Cleary Jr.

Dan Lyons provided the second run for Long Island in the bottom of the fourth with another two out hit, this one a single to left field.

The Bees, meanwhile, managed three hits.
