Maddox hits two grand slams among three home runs as New Britain Bees rout Long Island Ducks

Long Island, N.Y.-Craig Maddox hit a grand slam in the first inning to set the tempo for the New Britain Bees 16-2 win over the Long Island Ducks.

The Bees didn’t stop there; they added 4 more runs in the second inning when Jon Griffin hit a 3-run home run. Maddox stepped up to the plate again and hit a single RBI.

Jamar Walton earned the third home run of the night in the top of the fourth extending the Bees lead to 9. With Michael Crouse on base, Maddox hit his second homerun.

The Ducks found themselves on the board in the sixth inning when Angelo Songco hit a two-run homer.

The Bees offense was still alive. Maddox hit another grand slam in the top of the eighth. The Bees would score one more time before ending the night.

The Bees will play again today in Long Island at 6:35 p.m.
