NEW BRITAIN - Strong pitching from Jonathan Pettibone led the New Britain Bees to a 4-2 victory over the Bridgeport Bluefish.

Pettibone threw seven innings for the second consecutive start. He allowed two runs and struck out a pair.

Jovan Rosa set the tone for the Bees offensively with a solo homer in the first inning.

Teammate Jamar Walton added to the lead with a two-run double in the third.

Bridgeport’s offense was stymied in the game by Pettibone, along with relievers Brandon League and Shawn Gilblair. League had a perfect eighth inning with a strikeout. Gilblair earned the save, allowing just one hit and striking out two.

James Skelton continued his hitting ways and finished 2-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. Rosa went 1-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Walton was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI.
