NEW BRITAIN - For the New Britain Bees, Thursday night’s game came to a quick and sudden halt.

Their bullpen allowed nine runs over the final four innings in a 13-5 loss to the Southern Maryland Bluye Crabs.

Up 5-4 entering the sixth, Newington native Mike Hepple was charged with two runs, while Casey Coleman surrendered a third.

New Britain never recovered.

Brandon Shimo allowed a run in the seventh before giving way to the struggling Brian Dupra, who gave up the final five runs of the night over the last two innings of the game.

The Bees led the game early, scoring five runs, including four in the first, over the first two innings.

Mike Lee pitched 3 2/3 innings before giving way to Hepple. Lee surrendered four runs on nine hits, but still left with the lead.
