New Britain Bees score two or more runs in five different innings, shut out Southern Maryland Blue Crabs

NEW BRITAIN - The New Britain Bees scored two or more runs in five different innings, piling up 14 hits in an 11-0 victory Tuesday evening over the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

Six different players in the Bees’ lineup had at least two hits in the contest, led by Craig Maddox (3-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI), who kicked off the scoring by hitting a two-run homer in the second inning.

James Skelton (2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) hit a solo home run in the third inning, with Yusuke Kajimoto (2-for-4, 1 run, 2 RBI) collecting an RBI double later in the frame, then scoring on an RBI single from Jon Griffin (2-for-5, 1 run, 1 RBI).

Michael Crouse (2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning for a 7-0 lead. Michael Baca (2-for-4, 2 runs, 2 RBI) hit a solo home run in the sixth inning, followed later in the frame by an RBI single from Kajimoto.

Kyle Simon pitched the complete-game shutout for New Britain, scattering four hits and four walks.
