New Britain Bees' struggles continue in loss to Lancaster Barnstormers

LANCASTER, Penn. - The New Britain Bees continue to struggle, losing to the Lancaster Barnstormers 8-4 on Monday.

Bees starting pitcher Kyle Simon was lit up for seven earned runs and the Bees could not come back.

The New Britain lineup was solid overall in the game. James Skelton finished 2-for-5 with an RBI. Craig Maddox finished 3-for-5 with a pair of runs driven in.

For Lancaster, its leadoff hitter, Beau Amaral, had an electric offensive performance. He finished 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored.

Steve Clevenger was 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Sean Halton also had a multi-hit performance for Lancaster. Halton finished 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored.

The Lancaster bullpen was flawless. In 4 1/3 innings pitched, the bullpen allowed just one earned run after starting pitcher Jarrett Leverett was knocked around for three earned runs. Leverett pitched 4 2/3 innings for the Barnstormers.
