SUGAR LAND, Texas - Jason Jarvis gave up five runs, just three earned, on four hits and three walks over the first four innings as the New Britain Bees got into an early hole and were unable to dig out on Sunday afternoon in a 6-1 loss to the Sugar Land Skeeters.

Josh Prince had the big hit for Sugar Land - a three-run double with one out in the bottom of the fourth that gave the Skeeters a 5-0 lead.

Ivan Villaescusa hit an RBI single for New Britain in the eighth inning for the Bees’ only run of the game, scoring Conor Bierfeldt, who had hit a leadoff single. It was the first career hit and RBI in the league for Villaescusa.

New Britain was held to just four hits in the contest, as it lost its seventh straight game overall and third straight to start a six-game series over six days at Sugar Land, which continues today at 8:05 p.m.
